The day we've all been waiting for

January 18, 2011...Harper's due date! Finally! We've anticipated this day for so long (since May) and now it has arrived.  January 18th in Guatemala was a beautiful, happy, sunny, sleep-filled day for our 68 day old bundle of joy.  When we were giving her a bath, Nate held her up, fresh from the bath and said, "I was supposed to be able to do this today...IT'S A GIRL!"

So from today is when doctors say that you can begin to mark her milestones. If a full-term baby starts eating solid foods at 6 months, Harper could start at 8 months and still be on track.  At this point though, that doesn't really matter because she's healthy, home, and has turned our world around.  But, if we're talking milestones, she had one today...her first tears! I guess the tears started as a celebration that this was supposed to be the first day they would be needed.  As if seeing her cry isn't heartbreaking enough, tiny little tears makes it even more so.

Like I have said so many times before, we praise God for each of these sixty-eight days and are so thankful that things have gone so well.  Even Lupe is starting to get used to the idea of having a baby here.

Lupe thanks us for giving her a new bed to sleep on.

Nate is so good at this, too bad he goes back to work next week.
