We've been here almost 7 weeks and are feeling more settled and relaxed here. A few new developments in the last/next week:
-our stuff finally arrives Monday, I'm so excited for it, especially the piano!
-we have our car, but driving is another story. It's a little treacherous getting around and almost every road is one way so you have to know two routes (there and back) when you go somewhere. While on a jaunt for a dining room table today, we decided to try and make it to Matt and Erin's apt. Luckily, their building is 15 stories tall so it's hard to miss and we made it!
-Lupe is great, though she is having some "issues" probably due to some sort of parasite or amoeba. She had a very unpleasant test yesterday and we're waiting for the results to find out what kind of treatment she needs (probably just a pill). And apparantly, sick cats do not use their litter box...learned that the hard way.
-I just finished week 3 of teaching Kindergarten at Colegio Americano and really like it. I've got a great class (20 kids!), a great assistant, and a team that is super easy to get along with. Stay tuned for some funny kid stories this year.
We have a super short week this week because of Thanksgiving and we're going to Matt and Erin's then to Lake Atitlan for the weekend. It is always nice to get out of the busy, dirty city and see some of this beautiful country.
Wow! Laurs, what kind of party of this?
ReplyDeleteThis is at the marine ball. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be going to plenty of these in your life! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad your stuff will be there soon. That would be hard not having it around for a few months. Hope Lupe is doing better!!
